Entrance looking upstairs

Here is the first and only room that I’ve completed in the dollhouse. I personalized this room by scanning and cropping photographs of my family to a one inch scale. You can see a few of them on the wall next to the staircase. The most prominent piece in this room is the staircase. The wood slabs that were put at the top of each step along with the banister were dipped in varnish giving them a darker, mahogany finish.  The rest of the staircase including the spindles were spray painted white. The wallpaper I used was a pale cream, satin finish, ribbed paper. It added a neutral touch to the room and made a nice  contrast for the other pieces in the room.
